Bay County Animal ControlLocated at 6401 Bay Line Drive, Panama City, FL 32404. Bay County Animal Control is often the first stop for stray and surrendered animals in our area. They offer a variety of dogs, cats, and small animals ready for adoption. The staff can guide you through the application process and help match you with a pet that fits your lifestyle. Heartland Rescue RanchMain location and Paws Play Repeat Dog Park 1435 Skunk Valley Rd, Panama City, FL 3240 Every Saturday and Sunday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM $10 donation to play appreciated! This will help with our monthly vet bills!
Second location Pet Supermarket, 607 W 23rd St, Panama City, FL 32405 (by Walmart Shopping Center) Date/Time: Every Saturday from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Closed Sunday) Details: A non-profit rescue with a variety of adoptables available to meet on-site. Visitors are encouraged to see the animals during their regular hours. Rescue pets are available for adoptions at both locations.
BFF Animal Rescue (Becky's Furry Friends) Come see all these adorable babies in need of fur-ever homes or fosters!!! We have puppies aged from 7 weeks to 14 weeks, medium and large breeds!! Founded by a group of vet techs at Operation Spay Bay, the Castaway team focuses on companion animals whom are at risk for euthanasia by pulling from shelters, rescuing those who have been abandoned and supporting TNR assistance for community cats. Salty Cats of St. Andrews Rescue Salty Cats of St. Andrews rescue is dedicated to reducing the suffering and over population of feral and abandoned cats by providing shelter, care, vet and adoption services. What to Expect When Adopting
Each organization has its own adoption process, but most require an application, meet-and-greet with the animal, and an adoption fee that typically covers vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and microchipping. Some shelters also perform home checks to ensure a good match. The process might take a few days, but the reward of giving a rescue dog or cat a second chance is worth the wait.
